Koi Pond Outdoor Living

This project took place in Meridianville, AL, and was a complete backyard transformation that turned a simple yard into a full outdoor living space that the homeowner can enjoy. The client wanted a cohesive design that worked with their koi pond, so we focused on materials and layout that would tie everything together visually and functionally.

We installed pavers and wall block in a Savannah color, which offered warm tan and red tones. Those tones complemented the natural stone used around the koi pond, creating a unified look between the new hardscape and the water feature. Black accents were added in both the patio and the seating wall to give the area a custom, finished touch and to provide contrast that highlights the shapes and edges of the new work.

The retaining wall serves two important purposes. First, it addresses the elevation change in the yard, holding back gravel where needed and stabilizing the landscape.
